AI Proof of Concept for a National Vehicle Group

A major entity in the Australian vehicle industry identified operational challenges within its repairs division. This segment represented the biggest challenge to profitability due to high variability, lost efficiencies, and reliance on manual processes. MXA was engaged to design and deliver an AI Proof of Concept to demonstrate the art of the possible and secure Board endorsement for further investment.

The repairs division faced high variability, lost efficiencies, and reliance on high-volume manual processes, all of which challenged profitability. The organisation needed to modernise operations and demonstrate tangible value from AI to secure executive support for a broader digital and AI strategy.

MXA adopted a structured, iterative approach. We collaborated with stakeholders to identify the highest-value use case within the repairs division. We implemented a rapid four-week development phase using weekly sprints, engaging with a cross-functional steering committee. MXA engineered the AI Proof of Concept with monitoring tooling to enhance reliability and performance. Upon completion, we delivered all source code and monitoring tools and conducted detailed handover sessions to coach the team on managing the system independently.

The AI Proof of Concept was successfully delivered within four weeks, demonstrating promising results in addressing repair operation inefficiencies. The demonstration provided the Board and Executive team with the confidence to endorse and expand the company's AI strategy, leading to further investment. The comprehensive training and handover equipped the internal team to effectively manage and monitor the AI system independently.
